Book #4 in the Hardest Reading Challenge I’ll Ever Do

Challenges Complete:
- A-Z Challenge (T for Tingle in author’s last name)
- The Queer Rainbow Challenge (Lesbian lead character)
- The Rainbow Challenge (Orange)
I’ve had interest in reading Chuck Tingle for a long time. An author who started in niche erotica before moving into horror, he writes under the “Tingle” pseudonym and wears a pink sack over his head.

Camp Damascus centers around Rose Darling, a young autistic woman who was raised and believes in strict Christian doctrine.
But one day, she starts puking up flies, and strange happenings follow every day thereafter.
The book’s logline will give away the fact that Camp Damascus is billed as one of the most “effective” gay conversion camps in the world. Rose will sleuth her way through uncovering their “unconventional” methods at achieving this success.
I admire Tingle’s gusto here. The book is tons of fun, with a relatable, unique protagonist. The horror comes from the people who would deny the campers at Damascus their ability to live their lives as they are.
Camp Damascus was entertaining enough that I’ll also check out Tingle’s recent release, Bury Your Gays.
